Introduction to ESOL (with English Grammar Focus)
ISE's "TESOL Taster"
This preparation course is very useful for anyone planning to study CELTA or FCTBE who:
• has little / no experience of teaching
• feels insecure about his / her own English language (grammar!!) analysis
• is unsure whether teaching is the career for her / him
It is open to English speakers who want to improve their grammar/punctuation knowledge and non-native English speakers who want to improve their English usage, intonation, expression etc
Course Content
In this course, participants will be guided through the main components of the English language and its structure and delivery. Participants will also experience a ‘taster’ of the main elements of the teaching certificate courses, for example:
• Learn some elements of teaching methodology and practice and experience some peer teaching.
• Observe and analyse experienced EFL / TBE teaching students and consider the methods & strategies they use.
• Look at skills teaching in an EFL context
