Through a series of lectures, seminars, workshops, reading projects, oral and written assessments, participants will be introduced to a wide variety of techniques and practices, which they will need as teachers of English for Business.

The ISE FCTBE course covers the complete syllabus for teaching business English and includes observation tasks based on business English classes. Assessment is by means of a 2.5 hour written examination.

Course Content

Professional Skills: the client centred approach, needs analysis, course design, lesson planning, cross-cultural awareness, international public examination in English for Business.

Methodology and Materials: classroom approaches and techniques for teaching English for Business, appropriate material and their uses, teaching one-to-one.

Basic Business Awareness: the way businesses are run, social English for business people, the stages of the deal, basic business terminology, company structures in the English speaking world, the layout and content of routine business correspondence.

The FCTBE at ISE will enable you to gain the award and at the same time will equip you with many techniques and strategies for teaching Business English. You will participate in practical workshops as well as seminars and presentations. At ISE you will also have the opportunity to observe Business English classes. You will normally sit the FCTBE exam at the end of the course.

Exam

Upon completion of the course (and exam), successful candidates recieve full certification from LCCI Examinations board.

As an accredited exam centre, exams will also take place at ISE.
